Quantum Martial Arts

Quantum Martial Arts

Oh, lucky stars!  Quantum Martial Arts, a local nonprofit Martial Arts school (and one of my favorite places in the whole wide world), held their annual fundraiser this week.  While I was unable to attend the event in person this year (last year’s was wonderful!), two Reiki sessions with me were among the items being auctioned off.  Both sold for more than the asking price, which makes my ego happy, but more importantly, raises all important funds for the best community dojo in San Francisco.

I’ve joked in the past with their founder, Master Evans, that she doesn’t teach Martial Arts, she teaches life.  They’re non competitive, all inclusive, all ages and all focused on helping people achieve self actualization through the tenets of Tai Kwon Do – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.  In addition to kids, teens and adult classes, they regularly hold open self defense and rolling & falling for cyclists courses, and offer a kids scholarship program which allows families in need to train at reduced cost.

While I realized some time ago that my path does not involve a clenched fist, I hold this school near and dear to my heart, and jump at any opportunity to assist in Master Evan’s mission.  Just an amazing community, and I couldn’t be happier to do my wee-tiny part to help support them.
